Come to FOMU NIGHT on Thursday 19 November for a festive evening around the exhibition Eyes to Fly With by Graciela Iturbide. During this edition of FOMU NIGHTS, KINOLATINO takes you into Iturbide’s world and her unique way of seeing. Expect an evening full of film, music, conversations and encounters, and experience her work in an immersive way.

Isra Alonso (Son Jarocho)
Isra Alonso is a Mexican-born musician based in Brussels. As artistic coordinator of Banda Quetzal and various other ensembles, he builds bridges between traditional Latin American genres and contemporary musical influences he encounters in Brussels.
ES: Isra Alonso es un músico de origen mexicano que vive y trabaja en Bruselas. Como coordinador artístico de Banda Quetzal y de otros conjuntos, crea puentes entre los géneros tradicionales latinoamericanos y las influencias musicales contemporáneas que descubre en Bruselas.
Roberto Aguila y Su Pura Vibra
Roberto Aguila y Su Pura Vibra is a Cuban band that gets the atmosphere going with their infectious sound. Expect warm rhythms and a fiesta that continues late into the evening.

Catalina Villar
Catalina Villar is a French-Colombian film director and documentary filmmaker, born in Bogotá. Her work includes several award-winning documentaries, including Cahiers de Medellin, Invente-moi un pays and Ana Rosa. Since 2000, she has been part of the Ateliers Varan, where she leads filmmaking and screenwriting workshops in France and internationally. She also teaches at film schools and master’s programmes in various countries.
ES: Catalina Villar es una directora de cine y documentalista franco-colombiana, nacida en Bogotá. Su obra incluye varios documentales premiados, entre ellos Cahiers de Medellin, Invente-moi un pays y Ana Rosa. Desde 2000 forma parte de los Ateliers Varan, donde dirige talleres de realización cinematográfica y escritura de guion en Francia y a nivel internacional. También imparte clases en escuelas de cine y programas de máster en distintos países.
KINO LATINO
KINOLATINO is the Belgian film festival for Latin American cinema and the flagship project of the association Transit-Transat. The festival brings together film lovers, the Latin American diaspora in Belgium and everyone with an interest in Latin America through a diverse programme. Through film, conversations and presentations, KINOLATINO explores current social issues and creates space for critical reflection and new perspectives.
ES: Para esta edición de FOMU NIGHT, FOMU invita a KINOLATINO a comisariar y dar forma a la velada. KINOLATINO es el festival de cine belga dedicado al cine latinoamericano y el proyecto insignia de la asociación Transit-Transat. El festival reúne a amantes del cine, a la diáspora latinoamericana en Bélgica y a todas aquellas personas interesadas en América Latina a través de un programa diverso. Mediante películas, conversaciones y presentaciones, KINOLATINO explora temas sociales de actualidad y ofrece un espacio para la reflexión crítica y nuevas perspectivas.
GRACIELA ITURBIDE in FOMU
Eyes to Fly With is the first major retrospective of the work of renowned Mexican photographer Graciela Iturbide in Belgium. Her work explores themes such as identity, social relationships and ephemerality. The exhibition has been developed in close consultation with the artist and comprises around 160 works, from iconic black-and-white photographs to rarely seen vintage prints, colour photos and contact prints. Together they offer a unique insight into over half a century of photographic work.
