.tiff 2026 – Emerging Belgian Photography
Each year, through .tiff, FOMU supports ten up-and-coming artists and photographers who live or work in Belgium. In its exhibition and magazine, .tiff offers a fresh perspective on contemporary Belgian photography. Discover the work of these talented artists: Chloé Azzopardi, Teó Becher, Aliki Christoforou, Yaqine Hamzaoui, Tatjana Huong Henderieckx, Simen K. Lambrecht, Tom Lyon, Natalie Malisse, Anthony Ngoya and Darwin Taday Cabrera
Kelvin Haizel - Material Revolts: Ecosystem against Empire
In Material Revolts: Ecosystem against Empire Kelvin Haizel (1987, Ghana) examines the photographic representation of colonial history in microscopic detail. His point of departure is a 19th-century photo album from the FOMU collection. This album contains ten portraits of Congolese men, women and children, who were exhibited in the human zoo at the Antwerp World's Fair of 1885.
Also on show at FOMU: Carrie Mae Weems - The Heart of the Matter & Families.
DJ-set door Brikabrak
Brikabrak is here to put a smile on your face and get you moving. Since 2017, the collective has been a fixture on the Brussels nightlife scene, featuring innovative DJs, alternative club experiences and an open-minded audience of music lovers. Talking about genres would not really be appropriate, because in the true spirit of a real bric-à-brac, you can expect a collage of rhythms from all over the world, with a particular interest in British music culture.
For the opening night at FOMU, their new favourite Filaipe will be playing alongside Brikabrak founder Yooth Yooth. Filaipe brings pulsating bass, Brazilian batucada and queer energy to the dance floor, whilst Yooth Yooth provides a generous dose of sunshine and UK Funky waves.
SoCal Taco’s foodtruck
SoCal Tacos serves authentic Mexican street food on the FOMU terrace. Maggie and Peter, who grew up in a Mexican family in Southern California, prepare fresh tacos on corn tortillas and homemade quesadillas. Choose from a range of meat or vegetarian options and top them off with your favourite toppings!
FOMU photomatique
Capture your evening with a photo strip from the FOMU Photomatique. For €3 you will receive two strips to take home as a souvenir.
