Artist Talk Diane Severin Nguyen

On Friday March 20, 2026, Diane Severin Nguyen will come to FOMU for an exclusive Artist Talk at her exhibition IF REVOLUTION IS A SICKNESS.

The exhibition IF REVOLUTION IS A SICKNESS  departs from the work of Diane Severin Nguyen, an American artist of Vietnamese descent. In her practice, she examines how popular culture and politics are inextricably linked. Her work moves between music video, performance and photography, provoking with images that are as seductive as they are unsettling.

IF REVOLUTION IS A SICKNESS is about finding your place in today’s complex political world. In an immersive video installation, we follow a Vietnamese-Polish girl in Warsaw as she searches for her path in a world shaped by conflicting expectations. Nguyen wraps her critique of power, nationalism and cultural identity in the familiar, catchy aesthetics of K-pop.

During the Artist Talk with Diane Severin Nguyen, she will discuss her work and the themes explored in the exhibition. We warmly invite you to explore the exhibition on the 4th floor and then join the Artist Talk in the presence of the artist herself.
