Museum Night in Antwerp takes place on the first Saturday of August each year. Along with 18 other Antwerp museums and cultural institutions, we are opening our doors wide on 5 August from 7pm until 1am. Visitors can look forward to an extensive and unique programme of activities.
The one-off event was designed especially for Museum Night.

Programme at FOMU
SPEED TOURS
Continuously from 8pm to 11.30pm in the exhibition halls (2nd floor)
How about delving a little deeper into some fascinating subjects? Join one of the 15-minute speed tours led by a FOMU guide around two of the exhibitions:Grace Ndiritu Reimagines the FOMU Collection, and Belgian photographer Vincen Beeckman’s Ping Pong. Find out about the stories behind the images.
Guided tours at 8pm (Grace exhibition), 8:35pm (Vincen exhibition), 9:10 pm (Grace exhibition), 10pm (Vincen exhibition), 10:40pm (Grace exhibition) and 11:15pm (Vincen exhibition).

INKED HERITAGE: FOMU TATTOO STATION
Continuously from 7pm to 12am in the entrance hall
Have you always wanted to know what a tattoo would look like on you? Try one of our fake tattoos inspired by photographs from the Grace Ndiritu Reimagines the FOMU Collection exhibition. The tattoo art was specially designed by ex-Nightwatch curator Céline Lafrikh.

Midcentury Photo Contest
Continuously from 7pm to 11pm in the entrance hall
Everyone takes pictures every day. But what if you could take one back in time – the 1950s? On Museum Night, you and your companions can sit for a photographer in a mid-century setting. The most original portrait wins a prize from the FOMU shop.

Where Dance meets exhibition: Performance by Yamuna
At 8.30pm, 9pm and 9:30pm in the Vincen Beeckman exhibition
The Antwerp dancer Yamuna Kyamo Huygen leads you into the work of the Belgian photographer Vincen Beeckman. She brings his pictures to life using diverse dance forms.

Beats & melodies on FOMU terrace
Non-stop from 8pm to 12am on the FOMU café terrace
On Museum Night, FOMU café will not only serve snacks and drinks but also the best tunes. Local DJs DJ Milinguap and DJ MANZ will play their programme of Beats & Melodies on the FOMU terrace from 8pm until midnight.

Practical information
- Buy your tickets in advance online (from 27 June) or at the Visitor Centre at Het Steen (from 24 July to 5 August).
- One ticket gives you admission to all the museums participating in Museum Night. The number of tickets available is limited this year: buy your ticket in advance and don’t miss out!
- Museum Night is free for holders of an A Card. Book your free ticket online through the ticket shop.
- If there are still tickets available, you can buy them on the same day for 20 euros. Purchase your tickets from the webshop or the Visitor centre, until 5 August at 6pm. You cannot purchase tickets from the ticket counters at the museums.
- The Museum Night wristband gives you free entrance to a participating museum for the entire month of August. You don’t have to wear the wristband all summer: it is valid even if it is no longer attached to your wrist.
- Your Museum Night ticket also allows you a free Velo day pass (bike sharing service). A bicycle is a great way to visit all the participating museums.
